History of Ambient

Here is an excellent History of Ambient documentary from Radio 1. It’s full of classic tunes and interviews with the original masters of the genre all woven together. Definitely worth a listen.

Crispy at Salutations to the Soul
Posted by Crispy | Filed under Music

Recorded at the Salutations to the Soul fundraiser party on June 27, 2009 at the Transcendent Church of Bass, this mix begins with a glitched out Michael Jackson tribute by ArK47, and moves into a solid psydub groove with my usual blend of effects and samples to spice things up. Listen with the player below and click over to Splendid Beats for the tracklist and download link. Enjoy!

Success!

That was fantastic! Beautiful beats and peeps groovin’ and chillin’ on the picturesque Seattle waterfront. Thanks to everyone that came out and enjoyed the day with us. I’m not sure how to appropriately sum up the positivity and community that I felt out there, but it was awesome. The only thing that could have made it any better would have been the porta potty that the city had promised us.
I hope you all will join us in the fall for Chillography 202.
The entire show was recorded, so I’ll have those sets up for download in a bit.
Here are a couple of great photo sets of the day:

Sunday sunny Sunday
Posted by Crispy | Filed under Events
The current forecast for Sunday is looking perfect for enjoying chill vibes on the waterfront, and I’m now even more stoked after seeing the great photos from last weekend’s Playground Party in PDX.
Come on out, even for just a bit. This is going to be a great Sunday!
